They fell just short of Providence by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Pioneers since May 12, 2021.

Meanwhile, Corydon Central was not the first on the board last Saturday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against Henryville as they made off with a 12-6 win. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The victory got Corydon Central back to even at 2-2. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Austin skirted past Corydon Central 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
