Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge Comes Up Short

Cedar Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McNeil Mavericks. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mavericks earlier this season, when they won 53-39.

When it comes to explaining why Cedar Ridge lost, don't look at Bryson Batton. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 11 en route to 19 points. The dominant performance also gave Batton a new career-high in shooting accuracy (73%). Another player making a difference was Randall Guidry, who posted 11 points and seven boards.

Cedar Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 9-21. As for McNeil, their record now sits at 6-25.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Manor the next time they take the court. McNeil will head out to face Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Cedar Ridge will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
