Recap: Sedan Devils vs. Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans
The Sedan Devils fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the Spartans. Sedan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cedar Vale/Dexter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.
Cedar Vale/Dexter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Edee Boatman out in front who scored 15 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boatman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Sedan has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Sedan and Argonia will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Argonia is ranked 240th, while Sedan is ranked 265th). Cedar Vale/Dexter will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
