Basketball Game Preview: Campolindo Cougars vs. Alhambra Bulldogs

The Campolindo Cougars will face off against the Alhambra Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Campolindo will bounce into Monday's game after beating Miramonte, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Campolindo came out on top against Miramonte by a score of 33-25 on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Matadors are ranked 98th).

Meanwhile, Alhambra had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They took down the Cougars 46-31. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 43-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Alhambra has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Campolindo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Campolindo beat Alhambra 40-29 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Campolindo since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
