Basketball Recap: Central Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

Central had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They skirted past the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons 35-33. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Gryphons back in January, they had to take a 32-20 loss.

Academy for Classical Education's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khloie Stanley, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zhoie Stanley, who posted six points and six steals.

Central pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points over those games. As for Academy for Classical Education, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3.

Coincidentally, Central and Academy for Classical Education will both be playing Bleckley County the next time they take the court. Central will head out to face Bleckley County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Academy for Classical Education will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
