Football Recap: Shamokin Area Skates Past Lake-Lehman with Ease

Shamokin Area won the last time they faced Lake-Lehman and things went their way on Friday too. The Indians took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-7 victory over the Knights. The Indians' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Logan Steele had a dynamite game, rushing for 160 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 12 yards and one TD. Those 160 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Zakem Clinton was another key player, rushing for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries.

Shamokin Area has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points this season. As for Lake-Lehman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shamokin Area will venture away from home to square off against Shikellamy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Indians their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Lake-Lehman, they are taking a road trip to take on Northwest Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
