Baseball Game Preview: Mount View Golden Knights vs. Twin Valley Panthers

Mount View is a perfect 4-0 against Twin Valley since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Golden Knights will square off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Mount View made easy work of Van and carried off an 11-1 win. The Golden Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Wright, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Levi Barton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Twin Valley hadn't done well against Phelps recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Panthers never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mount View is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Twin Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.

Everything went Mount View's way against Twin Valley when the teams last played last Monday, as Mount View made off with a 17-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
