Basketball Recap: Walled Lake Western Takes a Loss

Walled Lake Western lost against South Lyon East last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Walled Lake Western Warriors fell to the South Lyon East Cougars 53-48. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while the Cougars are ranked 143rd).

Walled Lake Western has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points over those games. The victory was the third in a row for South Lyon East, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.

Walled Lake Western does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Lyon East, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Novi will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something South Lyon East surely won't give up without a fight.
