Gunter had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 59-21 victory over the Leonard Tigers. Given Gunter's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Leonard is ranked 572nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gunter has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points per game. As for Leonard, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 17-13.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Gunter Tigers face off against the Pottsboro Cardinals at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Pottsboro will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Gunter surely won't give up without a fight. As for Leonard, they are taking a road trip to face off against Howe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Leonard is facing Howe at the right time seeing as Howe is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
