Basketball Recap: KIPP Denver Collegiate Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Nicole Ricalday and Shaila Ramirez

KIPP Denver Collegiate lost against Arrupe Jesuit back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers fell 42-30 to the Arrupe Jesuit Generals. The White Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

KIPP Denver Collegiate's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Shaila Ramirez, who posted eight points along with eight boards and four blocks, and Nicole Ricalday, who put up eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Ramirez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. Yarely Gomez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

KIPP Denver Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Arrupe Jesuit, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

KIPP Denver Collegiate won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against DMLK at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arrupe Jesuit has already played their next contest (against Bennett), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
