Recap: Northside Eagles vs. Riverdale Raiders
Even though the Riverdale Raiders scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, the Northside Eagles still came out on top. It was close, but Northside capped 2023 with a 65-63 win over Riverdale. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Northside.
Keron Milton jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Northside's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Taylor, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Northside has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Riverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside and Lee County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Lee County's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
