Volleyball Recap: Southern Wayne Saints vs. Hunt Warriors
Southern Wayne lost against Hunt back in September, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Southern Wayne Saints lost 3-0 to the Hunt Warriors. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
While Southern Wayne was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-15.
Paige Mathews had a dynamite game for Hunt, getting 22 digs and two aces. Mathews is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Comstock, who had 21 assists.
Southern Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Hunt, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.
Southern Wayne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat vs. South Johnston on the 30th. Hunt has also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against East Wake on the 1st.
