Basketball Recap: Washington Triumphs

Washington won the last time they faced Sumner Academy and Jamari Williams did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wildcats took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 77-44 victory over the Sabres with plenty of help from Williams, who went 10-for-17 en route to 26 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 44.4% three-point shooting accuracy.

Elliott Berry Jr. was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven assists and three steals. Berry Jr. is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Washington now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sumner Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will be home for the holidays to greet Harmon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 69.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sumner Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Atchison on Friday. The Sabres will need to watch out since the Phoenix have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
