Football Recap: Carpinteria Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Carpinteria's offense. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Nordhoff Rangers on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Michael Dennie continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Nordhoff, throwing for 504 yards and six TDs while picking up 20.2 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 37 yards. Those six passing touchdowns gave Dennie a new career-high.

Carpinteria's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Nordhoff, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Carpinteria didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 34-21 loss against Channel Islands on the 30th. As for Nordhoff, they have also already played their next contest, a 62-6 victory against Del Sol on the 30th.
