Recap: El Reno Indians vs. Guthrie Bluejays
The El Reno Indians put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Guthrie by a score of 52-40. Given El Reno's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Guthrie is ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pauline Black-harmon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last four games she's played. Emmary Elizondo was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals and two blocks.
El Reno pushed their record up to 22-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Guthrie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Reno will take on Shawnee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Guthrie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crossings Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Guthrie is facing Crossings Christian at the right time seeing as Crossings Christian is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
