Baseball Recap: Berne-Knox-Westerlo Comes Up Short

In Monday's Canine Competition, Berne-Knox-Westerlo had to take the L. They fell 5-2 to the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves on Monday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was GG Lefkatditis, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season. Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Coming up, Berne-Knox-Westerlo will be playing in front of their home fans against Northville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Middleburgh at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
