Volleyball Recap: Wood River Takes a Loss

Wood River lost against Tri County back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans.

Lorelei Dethloff paced Wood River's offense, picking up five kills. Dethloff got some help from Tenley Gewecke and her six assists. Allie Johnson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Kenzi Scherling, who had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Wood River's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Tri County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Wood River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against St. Cecilia on the 2nd. As for Tri County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against H&H on the 30th.
