Baseball Game Preview: Asotin Panthers vs. Pullman Greyhounds

The Asotin Panthers will challenge the Pullman Greyhounds at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Asotin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Asotin needed a bit of extra time to put away Colfax. They skirted past the Bulldogs 6-5. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

CODY ELLS made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on SAM HALL, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. COOPER THOMAS was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, Pullman beat West Valley 7-2 on Saturday.

Asotin pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Pullman, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.

Asotin might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Pullman in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
