Preview: South Delta vs. Simmons
South Delta will take on Simmons at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Friday, South Delta put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They were the clear victor by a 34-8 margin over West Tallahatchie. No one put up better numbers for South Delta than junior Adrain Warfield, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns. This marked the 5th contest in which Warfield has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, Simmons got themselves on the board against Coffeeville, but Coffeeville never followed suit. Simmons were fully in charge, breezing past Coffeeville 63-0. With Simmons ahead 56-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Their wins bumped South Delta to 5-3 and Simmons to 8-0. After the teams both made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
