Recap: Suffolk Christian Academy Knights vs. Summit Christian Academy Eagles
After flying high against the Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Eagles last Friday, the Suffolk Christian Academy Knights came back down to earth. Suffolk Christian Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 56-55 to Summit Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Suffolk Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Ott, who scored 29 points. That was a full 52.7% of Suffolk Christian Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. De'Sean Stevenson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten assists.
Summit Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Cole Miller, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezra Crowder, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Suffolk Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Summit Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-14.
Suffolk Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Great Hope Baptist at 7:00 p.m. Great Hope Baptist comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Summit Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Spirit HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
