Soccer Game Preview: Bethlehem vs. Louisville Collegiate

The Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees will head out on the road to challenge the Louisville Collegiate Amazons & Titans at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bethlehem is headed into the game having not lost since the 8th and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Todd County Central an 8-0 shutout on Saturday. Given Bethlehem's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Todd County Central are ranked 110th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Louisville Collegiate entered their tilt with Bishop Brossart on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Mustangs. With Louisville Collegiate ahead 4-1 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Their offense was hitting Bishop Brossart from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Thomas Weinrich led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Louisville Collegiate's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Bethlehem, their win bumped their record up to 10-3-1.

Bethlehem suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Louisville Collegiate when the teams last played back in August of 2015. Can the Eagles/Banshees avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
