            Baseball Recap: Weston Ranch Cougars vs. Chavez Titans        
        
		
        
        
            After only one  run in their last  game, Weston Ranch made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Chavez  on Wednesday. The Cougars blew past the Titans 12-6. The  victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won five in a row.
 Nico Orona was a  major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and three unearned) runs off   nine  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  run. He has become a key player for Weston Ranch: the team is 2-1 when he posts  at  least  two  stolen bases, but 9-10 otherwise.

Those  five  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.  Anthony Arias was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
The  win  got Weston Ranch back to even at 11-11. As for Chavez,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-22.
Weston Ranch will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday.
