Basketball Recap: Make It 13 in a Row for Southwest

Southwest won against Southern Valley last Saturday with 46 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Southwest Roughriders claimed a resounding 46-18 victory over the Medicine Valley Raiders. The Roughriders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.

Southwest found their leader in freshman Aspen Billeter, who went 6 of 12 en route to 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for Billeter. Another player making a difference was Allison Vanpelt, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 14 points and three steals.

The win (which was Southwest's 13th in a row) raised their record to 14-1. As for Medicine Valley, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Southwest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-40 victory against Arapahoe on the 27th. As for Medicine Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 37-24 defeat against Cambridge on the 27th.
