Softball Recap: Sayre Redskins vs. Wellsboro Hornets

Sayre can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 15-2 margin over the Wellsboro Hornets. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Sayre has managed all season.

Sayre got a massive performance out of Olivia Thompson, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Sayre's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11. As for Wellsboro, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Sayre will head out on the road to challenge Sullivan County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Sullivan County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season. Wellsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
