The New Castle Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Yorktown Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Castle will be strutting in after a win while Yorktown will be coming in after a loss.
New Castle not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 18, 2024 (when they won 17-1). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Centerville a 9-0 shutout. The Trojans have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.
Not much got past Brayden Hancock, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Centerville off the board.

On the hitting side, Arrin Murray was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Garren Mefford also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
New Castle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Yorktown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wapahani.
Yorktown also got a good showing from Brody Foltz, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Foltz a new career-low.
At the plate, Kaden Crumes was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run. Noah Loveall was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
New Castle's record is now 4-9. As for Yorktown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
New Castle suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Yorktown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
