Basketball Recap: Hydaburg Takes a Loss

Hydaburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Klawock Chieftains, falling 45-21. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Chieftains from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Klawock's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lea Armour, who posted 24 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Armour a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Kaiya Marvin, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Hydaburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Klawock, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Klawock beat Hydaburg by a score of 43-23 on Thursday.
