Basketball Game Preview: Shaw Raiders vs. Jordan Red Jackets

Shaw is on a three-game streak of home losses, Jordan a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Saturday. The Shaw Raiders will welcome the Jordan Red Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Shaw has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Shaw turned things around against Kendrick on Tuesday. They blew past the Cherokees 50-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Raiders have posted since January 14th.

Quishyi Walcott continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 for 12 on her way to 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Brooke Shipp, who posted nine points.

Shaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-33, which was the final score in Jordan's tilt against Spencer on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Red Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Greenwave are ranked 232nd).

Shaw's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.

Shaw strolled past Jordan in their previous meeting last Wednesday by a score of 50-34. Will Shaw repeat their success, or does Jordan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
