The Corvallis Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Polson Pirates at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Corvallis will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Ronan on Tuesday. The Blue Devils never let the Chiefs get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The matchup marked the Blue Devils' most dominant win of the season.
Adrian Sears was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sears was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jake Leavitt was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Maurice Craun was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
Corvallis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ronan only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, Polson faced Libby in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Loggers with a sharp 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Liam Jackson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Agliano, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Cole Wadsworth, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Polson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Corvallis, their record is now 3-6.
Corvallis might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Polson when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
