Academy of Science and Innovation had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Farmington River Hawks 66-29 on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Ravens who have now won eight games in a row dating back to last season.

Academy of Science and Innovation had a senior duo take command as Ibrahim Sidik dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds and Lebron White went 8 of 16 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. The matchup was Sidik's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wilbert Franco, who posted six points along with five boards and four steals.

Academy of Science and Innovation smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy of Science and Innovation will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Cheney Tech at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Farmington and Middletown will compete for holiday cheer at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
