Baseball Recap: Marionville Comes Up Short

Marionville came into this matchup off a tough eight-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Spokane Owls by a score of 7-5 on Monday. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Owls recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Marionville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Crumpley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Bradyn Batchman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Marionville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Spokane, their record is now 7-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marionville will square off against Blue Eye at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spokane, they will face off against Verona at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Owls are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
