            Softball Recap: Piute Thunderbirds vs. North Sevier Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            Piute dropped their record down to 7-9 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They lost  17-2 to the North Sevier Wolves. The Thunderbirds were not able to make up for their  loss to the Wolves from their previous meeting  back in April of 2024.
As for North Sevier, they pushed their record up to 10-12 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by 11  runs or more this season.
For North Sevier's part,  Chloe Malmgren made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run but no hits. Malmgren was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Avery Taylor was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  runs.  Dally Wasden was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Coming up, Piute will be playing at home against Milford  at 2:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last four contests. As for North Sevier, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  12-11  defeat against Timpview on the 28th.
