Basketball Recap: Aubrey Rogers Drops Highest Score of Season Against Naples

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aubrey Rogers). Everything went their way against the Naples Golden Eagles on Monday as the Aubrey Rogers Patriots made off with a 73-52 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Aubrey Rogers' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madelyn Hamisch led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Hamisch also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Ella Johnson, who posted 20 points and six rebounds.

Aubrey Rogers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Naples lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Maddie Jude, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 15 points. Jude is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaliyah Tiberio, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.

Aubrey Rogers has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Naples, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Aubrey Rogers didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-32 victory against Barron Collier on the 11th. As for Naples, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-34 defeat against Palmetto Ridge on the 11th.
