Baseball Game Preview: Burlingame Panthers vs. Lowell Cardinals

The Burlingame Panthers will challenge the Lowell Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Burlingame 4, Lowell 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Friday just wasn't the day for Burlingame's offense. They fell 5-0 to College Park on Friday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Burlingame got a good showing from Nash Trautwein, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Trautwein didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

Meanwhile, Lowell has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.4 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against Madison, falling 10-0.

Burlingame has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Lowell, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Burlingame was able to grind out a solid victory over Lowell in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 4-1. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
