Basketball Game Preview: Ball Tornadoes vs. Santa Fe Indians

The Ball Tornadoes will head out on the road to challenge the Santa Fe Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Ball is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Texas City 76-31. The Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.

Braeon Arceneaux and Kalyn Toussaint were among the main playmakers for Ball as the former went 13 for 29 on her way to 37 points in addition to six steals and five boards and the latter dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. The matchup was Arceneaux's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Holloway, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Santa Fe against Texas City on Tuesday as the squad secured an 81-34 win. The contest marked the Indians' most dominant victory of the season.

The win (which was Ball's third in a row) raised their record to 9-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Santa Fe, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.

Ball couldn't quite finish off Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 58-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Santa Fe's Hannah Doerre, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 22 boards.
