Baseball Game Preview: Avon Park Red Devils vs. Hardee Wildcats

The Avon Park Red Devils will face off against the Hardee Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Avon Park's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Hardee has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

On Friday, Avon Park earned a 5-1 win over Clewiston.

KJ Massey was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Cam Engler, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Hardee came up short against IMG Academy Royal on Friday and fell 7-2.

Hardee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryland Beumel, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. The Wildcats are 4-2 when Beumel posts two or more runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

Hardee's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Avon Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Avon Park skirted past Hardee 4-2 in their previous matchup back in February. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
