Football Recap: North Fort Myers Falls to Cape Coral in First Game of Season

North Fort Myers unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Cape Coral Seahawks on Friday, falling 40-10. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Red Knights struggled afterwards.

Cape Coral got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jermain Skinner out in front who rushed for 126 yards and two scores on only ten carries. Skinner's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Cobb, who gained 115 total yards and two touchdowns.

Coming up, North Fort Myers will head out on the road to challenge Port Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cape Coral, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lemon Bay at 7:30 p.m.
