Basketball Recap: Maple Hill Takes a Loss

Maple Hill lost against Stillwater back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Sunday. The Maple Hill Wildcats fell just short of the Stillwater Warriors by a score of 55-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Warriors are ranked 412th).

Maple Hill has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Stillwater, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Maple Hill will challenge Cairo-Durham at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Maple Hill is facing Cairo-Durham at the right time seeing as Cairo-Durham is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Stillwater, they will venture away from home to take on Saratoga Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
