Softball Recap: Carrington Comes Up Short

Thompson hit Carrington with a ten-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals came up short against the Tommies, falling 16-5. The Cardinals have struggled against the Tommies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Carrington's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Thompson, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Carrington will head out to square off against Ray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ray Jays' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Thompson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fargo North at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
