Football Recap: Grace Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Grace Christian Academy dropped to 7-3 on Thursday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They took a blow against the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats, falling 35-0. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Lions, who until this matchup were averaging 14.5 points allowed.

Carter Pray threw for 61 yards on four of six attempts. Jeshua Fish was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards.

As for Battle Ground Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.9 points over those games.

A big part of Battle Ground Academy's win came down to the chemistry between Kaedyn Marable and his top target Maddox Porter. Marable threw for 326 yards and four TDs while completing 71.1% of his passes while Porter picked up 252 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those 252 receiving yards gave Porter a new career-high.

Grace Christian Academy and Battle Ground Academy are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Lions will take on Northpoint Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. As for Battle Ground Academy, they will look to defend their home field on the 7th against Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. The Wildcats will be up against the Fighting Irish's rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.1 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
