Football Game Preview: Frederick Golden Eagles vs. Silver Creek Raptors

The Frederick Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Silver Creek Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frederick is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Friday, Frederick earned a 21-10 victory over Loveland.

Sonny Delpizzo had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 191 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 35 receiving yards. Preston Kissinger was another key player, throwing for 110 yards and two touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes.

Frederick didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Reno Digesualdo.

Meanwhile, Silver Creek gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 35-28 win over Greeley West. The victory continues a trend for the Raptors in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

Frederick better focus on containing Eli Stubbs and Nolan Gaccetta as the pair were huge in Silver Creek's win. Stubbs rushed for 162 yards and three TDs, while Gaccetta rushed for 96 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries.

Silver Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Frederick's record is now 4-2. As for Silver Creek, their record now sits at an identical 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Frederick against Silver Creek in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-12 win. In that matchup, the Golden Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 32-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
