Basketball Recap: St. John Lutheran Takes a Loss

St. John Lutheran played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 62-23 loss at the hands of the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs . The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-12.

Meadowbrook Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zach Ross out in front who made all 7 shots he took racking up 19 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Ross continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gaige Daugherty, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

St. John Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Meadowbrook Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

St. John Lutheran will look to defend their home court on Friday against Gainesville Christian Community at 7:30 p.m. St. John Lutheran is facing Gainesville Christian Community at the right time seeing as Gainesville Christian Community is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they will head out to face off against Redeemer Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Redeemer Christian: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Meadowbrook Academy has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
