Soccer Game Preview: Auburn vs. Hoover

The Auburn Tigers will take on the Hoover Buccaneers in a tournament on Saturday.

Auburn fell victim to Davidson and their airtight defense on Friday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Hoover kept a clean sheet against Baker on Friday. They blew past the Hornets 3-0. That's two games straight that the Buccaneers have won by exactly three goals.

They hit Baker with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Henry Patterson, Reeves Knox, and Hudson Croker.

The victory made it two in a row for Hoover and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two matches. As for Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Auburn came out on top in a nail-biter against Hoover when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Does Auburn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hoover turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
