Softball Recap: Shawnee Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

The matchup between Shawnee and Greeneview on Friday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. Shawnee put the hurt on Greeneview with a sharp 13-6 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Braves, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Alee Trimmer and Byanca Dubie were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Trimmer struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Dubie pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Trimmer has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Trimmer went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Dubie scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jaylynn Roberts was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Raelynn Botkin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Shawnee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .447 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Shawnee's record is now 3-0. As for Greeneview, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shawnee will venture away from home to take on Houston at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greeneview, they will challenge Fairfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
