Baseball Recap: Malakoff Falls Short of White Oak in the Playoffs

Malakoff and White Oak squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Malakoff had to settle for second. They came up short against the Roughnecks, falling 13-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 8-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Malakoff saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Tennyson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Wyatt Wallace was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Malakoff has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. As for White Oak, they moved to 17-8 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Malakoff beat the Roughnecks by a score of 6-3 on Saturday.
