Softball Recap: Kodiak Bears vs. Redington Huskies

Kodiak stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past the Redington Huskies 16-1. Winning may never get old, but Kodiak sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Shanoah Spear made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Spear was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Addalina Haagensen and Hailee Henslee did most of the damage at the plate: Haagensen scored three runs while going 4-for-4, while Henslee went 2-for-3 with three RBI, a triple, and a run. Another player making a difference was Aliesha Miranda, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Kodiak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Redington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.
