Pleasant Grove had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Lincoln Trojans on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won nine contests in a row.

Madeline Lawson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shealynn Stinson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

Pleasant Grove's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season.

Pleasant Grove will challenge Sheldon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.7, the Huskies 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
