Baseball Recap: Pleasant Grove Vikings vs. Dixie Flyers
Pleasant Grove had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Dixie Flyers with a sharp 10-1 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by nine runs or more this season.
Van Haynie and Hyrum Long dominated on the mound. Haynie struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits, while Long pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Haynie has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, C.J. Anderson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Pleasant Grove's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Dixie, they dropped their record down to 7-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
