Baseball Recap: Folsom Comes Up Short

Folsom suffered their closest loss since April 26, 2025 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Oak Ridge Trojans by a score of 3-1. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

David Engelken was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Folsom saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Sargent, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Folsom's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Oak Ridge, they pushed their record up to 7-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

While Folsom had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
