Evans had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Aquinas Fightin' Irish on Thursday. Jeremiah Sturkey had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Knights.

Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evans will head out to square off against Jefferson County at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aquinas, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Howard at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st.
