Baseball Game Preview: North Port Bobcats vs. Bishop Verot Vikings

North Port is 0-6 against Bishop Verot since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. North Port will head out to take on Bishop Verot at 7:00 p.m.

North Port is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 7-0 to Out-of-Door Academy. That's two games in a row now that the Bobcats have lost by exactly seven runs.

North Port saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stephen Commander, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Bishop Verot came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Falcons a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Vikings have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

North Port's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Bishop Verot, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

North Port couldn't quite finish off Bishop Verot in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can North Port avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
